Seat motors

Looking for seat motors for my '02 GC Overland. Appears no one sells just the motors. You have to buy the whole rack plus all the motors. I think I only need 2. The seat moves back and forth and the back goes up & down. The seat won't tilt or move up or down... The motors start but immediately get stuck like they are locking up.

Anyone know where to buy just the motors? Or is there something else that can be wrong. I looked the best I could under the seat and there doesn't appear to be anything caught in the gearing.

Re: Seat motors

From what I have read the motors rarely go bad. The grease on the assembly gets dry and the electric motor cannot move the assembly. The fix is removing the seat, cleaning up and greasing the assembly. I have not made time yet.

Re: Seat motors

I had this happening on my drivers seat as well. Some dry lubricant on the spindles normally do wonders. It was not necessary to remove the seat, but it needs to be in the up position to get reasonable access. You could use some WD40 or alike on the spindle to get the motor working again or put it up without your weight on the seat.
