Stereo/Speaker Help

My front speakers started sounding bad and my back speakers quit working a while back figures I blew them up, so I replaced them with all new speakers. But my rear passenger door speaker will not come on?? Checked all of the balances and front to rear are set right and rear drivers side working ok so its only the one speaker?? Any tips??

Re: Stereo/Speaker Help

Test or try that speaker on a channel that you know positively works if no sound from speaker you got a bad speaker, if out put from speaker then you need to trace that feed from radio to speaker remember your ground may be a common wire but the positive will be its own color code a continuity test on that wire will tell you if its good or it is broken along the way, the positive wire at the speaker will have its own color patern that will also show up at the connector by the radio unplug from radio b4 performing a continuity test on this wire I know it seems like alot but is a for sure way to find out the problem. Good luck.

Remember though the ground wire may be a common wire also test as alot of vehicle issues are faulty grounds this is only to test speaker and wire other problems may exist like no output from radio and at this point you have to check the pre-amp outputs if your radio has them they are either on the back of the radio or on a couple of leads and if they work you can add an amp tapping the pre-amp outputs, i know more money out of pocket or either settle for three channels or buy another radio. Sorry for the long reply but you need details to get your problem resolved. I would perform all these things while you are looking and go humm what the heck is he up to but I've been working on electronics since I was 14-15 troubleshooting comes naturally.
