Sun roof question...

After looking at the owners manual and how the sun roof switch is supposed to look like (between the driver and passenger map lights), I'm thinking my sunroof is aftermarket. I've also noticed the buttons at night light up a different color than the rest of the interior lights. The reason I'm wondering is cause some of the buttons aren't working correctly or at all so I'm just wanting to know if anyone elses sunroof buttons are set up this way...
Thanks!!

Re: Sun roof question...

Not familiar with the switches you are showing. It normally has a fwd/aft toggle switch. As you said, its probably aftermarket.

Re: Sun roof question...

I just got the jeep a couple weeks ago and all the buttons worked. I know that the two arrow buttons manually bring the moonroof open or close. The #1 has a set function to just tilt it open, the #2 has a set function to open the sunroof all the way and the "C" closes the sunroof. The two arrows are still working but the 1,2 and C don't work and with the "C" not working, I have to manually close it with the arrows not knowing if it's completely closed only judging by the sound of air coming in.

Whoever installed the sunroof did a great job making it look OEM besides for the switch.

Re: Sun roof question...

Ok on the sun shade cover, the handle says "webasto" and I searched it up and it is indeed an aftermarket sunroof. I tried to send an email asking about the problem or seeing about getting a new switch and the email wouldn't send. It kept saying error so they might not be in business anymore. There is a phone number listed so I'll give that a try tomorrow.

It's cool though that it came out with such a great oem look to it

Re: Sun roof question...

Ok problem fixed. Apparently the company of that sunroof has had issues just like I did with the buttons not working. They said that disconnecting th battery can mess it up or anything messi with the computer. Well after I got the car, the CEL came on and I did the "key on & off 3 times" trick to check the code and I guess that messed something up on it. I just went out the jeep and turned the key on and off again 3 times and turned the car on and all the buttons work now.

Re: Sun roof question...

Glad you got it fixed! I always double check mine to see if it's closed. Left it open a couple times at an old job, luckily it didn't rain! lol
