Superchips 3875

Quick question!

Does the flashpaq 3875 lock to the vehicle when first used i.e. lock to the Vin or ECU? Just a rumour I have heard?

Or, are all flashpaq's open to connect to any vehicle?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Superchips 3875

Well Jason,it kinda sucks but here's how the flashpaq works. When you tune a vehicle the unit is locked to that ecu but not permanently. If you return that vehicle back to stock the flashpaq is then unlocked from that vehicle and you can tune a different Jeep. So only one Jeep at a time.

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I see the point from SuperChips point of view i.e. a licence type one use.

There are very hard to get a hold of over here but the burning question is it worth it?

Re: Superchips 3875

I ran a SC tuner on the '06 Ram QC 4x4 I had before the WJ. Between the intake upgrade, Magnaflow muffler and the SC it really woke up the 4.7. I cannot imagine what the SC tuner and a 3" exhaust upgrade would do for my WJ.

Re: Superchips 3875

I've never liked any tuner or chip I've ever had on any vehicle. Then I got this one. It does make a noticeable difference. For me, a lot of it was in the shift points. It's not just an engine tuner. The shift points were much crisper and quicker, and you DEFINITELY feel it in the seat of your pants. Be careful buying used ones for reasons mentioned above...it's one thing to maybe get one that's for sale here on the forum by a trusted member vs. ebay or something like that. I bought mine new, but caught a sale and had a gift card, so it didn't hurt so bad. They are pricey.
