Re: The Blue project!

After a while I switched to synthetics in my old ZJ, and have always ran synthetic in my WJ now. At first I was pushing oil changes out to around 4,000 miles, depending on driving, longer drives are better than a lot of short trips. I recently started using amsoil XL, they say you can run up to 10,000 miles on it but I think I will change it at 6,000 and have it analyzed to see how its holding up in an engine with almost 150,000 miles. Its also depends on the filter, some like K&N and mobil 1 and the newer purolators are designed to last longer than say a cheap fram or other less expensive filter.

I love that K&N oil filter. I run them on my WJ and on the wife's WK. It's worth it for the welded-on nut alone. I don't even own an oil filter wrench anymore. Just a 1" socket. SOOOOOOO much easier to break it loose. Between that and my fumitomo oil drain valve, I can get the oil changed in no time and with minimal tools and mess. Also, if you're taking votes, I run Royal Purple in the WJ and Mobil 1 Syn in the WK. I change mine between 3500 and 4000. I do a lot of short trips, so I feel better changing it more often. I've also had my engine oil analyzed and everything came back with a very clean bill of health. According to the lab, I can easily run my oil longer than I do.

Yeah dude...google it...you'll thank me later. It replaces your oil drain bolt with a valve, so all you have to do to drain the oil is turn the little lever and away you go. You push a hose on the end of it and you can drain the oil into a friggin coke can if you wanted to. The part number for the 4.7L and the WK V6 is F106N.

As for brakes, I would recommend EBC brakes. You can find them at Summit Racing. You'll probably pay the same as OEM and get a superior product. There's another brand a lot of folks run on their WJ's too that are supposed to be great, but the name escapes me right now. Someone will chime in...

Re: The Blue project!

No...it's a brand I never heard of until I found this site...OH STILLEN...that's it. I have no personal experience with these. Once I started running EBC brakes, I've stuck with them.

You can also try R1 concepts, they are a vendor here and if you PM them what you are looking for they will give forum members a discount. I'm going to be ordering from them in the next few weeks.
