Transfer case 247 to 242hd 4.7L
This is my first post and I am hoping to get some help. Recently picked up a 2002 Overland and have started to gather parts to do a 247 to 242 transfer case conversion. I have aquired a 242J case and rear drive shaft from a 2002 wj with a 4.7 with 99K as documented from LKQ.
So here is the question. When I picked up the transfer case from LKQ it was on a pallet and tied down. Upon driving home it shifted on the pallet and fluid (red and I assume it to be ATF+4) started leaking out the tail shaft cone. Is this normal or should I be worried and return it to LKQ?
BTW...... I paid $250 for the the 242 and $115 for the rear drive shaft.
