Question Transfer case question.

I have a trans. fluid leak between transmission and transfer case in my 1999 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 four well drive 6 cyl.
wich one of the two transmission is leaking? please and thank you.

Both the 42RE transmission and the NV242 T-case use the same fluid, ATF+4. (Select trac) . Only if your jeep would be quadra trac ll, it would have the NV247 T-case, which uses other type (and color) fluid.

Transmission rear seal or T-case front seal. Eventually a blocked vent line, causing the internal pressure to rise anmd the fluid to leak at a seal.

Without tearing it apart it's hard to say which is leaking.

If I was to wager though, my money would be on the transfer case seal. Never had a problem with transmission seals but I've had plenty of transfer case seals replaced on my 99 and 02 Jeeps.
