or you can find a 242HD and direct bolt on and the 242HD is known to be a stronger case than the 242j
242HD just need a new rear driveshaft.
242J you will need to swap the 247 input shaft into the 242j
The differences between the 242j and 242hd are the 242j has an external slip yoke (uses a rubber dust boot) and the 242hd uses an internal slip yoke (uses an aluminum tail cone)
The 242hd also uses a thicker chain inside the case and uses thicker sprockets to correspond with the thicker chain.
The 242hd has an input shaft length of appox 1.5" so that it mates with the output of the 5/45rfe transmission in the V8s. Where the 242j's input shaft is about .83" for mating with the 42re transmission in the 4.0s.
Everything else about the cases are identical. Same gear ratios, spline counts, couplers, snap rings, front outputs, etc.
