Just completed my third Royal Purple oil change on my GC. And this time I actually used a Royal Purple Filter, too. Complete purplely package.

How do ya like royal purple? Kinda considering trying it in my 4.0...Rotella T5 is giving me a bit of a tick on startup, though I haven't figured out if its because of the new oil or a pre-existing issue that was uncovered by the oil change.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Ill be switching to RP once i finish my new motor. IMO K&N oil filters are the best out there just because of the 1" nut on the bottom of it!

I agree completely! I run RP with a K&N filter. That nut on the end makes life so much easier. I don't even own an oil filter wrench...which means I can get out of changing other people's oil for them

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Stupid simple stuff too...you'd think other filter makers would catch on. With as cramped as engine bays have gotten, it's really nice to know you can get a long extension for your ratchet if you have to and get to just about any oil filter without needing room to swing a friggin filter wrench. I hate those things...always slipping...you always have like a 1/2 of space to swing it...blah

I agree, I think something like this should be factory. Even in parking lots it gives people plenty of warning that you are backing out, and since my street has no street lights and the one neighbor and his kids seem to run a used car lot in the street its nice to have the extra light. Put a similar set in the cruiser too!

Ha, for a while they were wired to a switch, since the reverse signal failed on the shift solenoid before it started goofing up shifts, I didn't feel like replacing the solenoid just for reverse bulbs so I cut in a switch that I mounted under the dash, but I took it out and hooked them back to the main harness once I replaced the solenoid. I did (I think) scare the pants off of a tailgater with them once though

Here, I'll start...on my short list are:

New upper and lower radiator hoses and stainless clamps. Jeep's got about 85k on it. A new set of hoses is probably not a bad idea considering summer is almost here and the cost to do this is like $20.

Hopefully getting some parts hydro-graphic'd

Installing a bored TB (70mm)

Swapping out billet grille inserts for black mesh
Not a bad little thread you started here buddy! One year old and no signs of slowing down. 1307 posts and the centerpiece of the WJ section. Not bad at all.......................Badg e Boy
