Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Damn I'm good, installed new track bar within 15 min. Boy what a difference. Not a single creek or clunk clink crack. Drives like a caddy, well better then before at least. However think its time for alignment. Steering is off

You do know you can center it yourself with the adjustment cuff on the track bar, right? It likely should get aligned at some point, but you can turn that adjuster a few times with a pair of channel locks and then drive it down the road a little to see where the steering wheel ends up. Once you find the sweet spot, just tighten up the 2 bolts that cinch the adjuster down to the track bar and you're done.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Thanks alot cause it is pretty far off. I might have to do that Tomm. I also noticed my drive front tire is way off. All other three get good even contact with ground, but that one is tilted. Will adjusting that help that?

No, I don't think so. That collar is just for adjusting the steering wheel. If you have one tire that's wearing funny, you'd need other adjustments, and the only way to really know for sure is with an alignment. They go for about $80 around here, which is reasonable I guess.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Thoroughly detailed and waxed both WJ's.

I so wanted to do the roof rack delete on the red one but mine have been in place to long and I suspect the first 7yrs of its life in Ohio didn't do it any good. The spots on the paint underneath the mounts would not come clean at all. I spent a LOT of time trying with various means to get those areas to shine up to no avail.....so I put it back on. Now I'm having seconds thoughts about even trying to debadge it.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

That sucks dude...debadging shouldn't be anything like the roof rack though. The roof rack allows dirt and funk to get under there while the badges don't. I de-badged and de-racked mine (also and OH truck) and the badge removal was fine. The roof rack did require quite a bit of clean up. It finally got to the point where I was happy with it. I laid in some trim inside the gutter too.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Where did you get that trim? That may allow me to do it. The gutters were what I was having issues with. They simply would not clean up and trust me I gave it a full effort but the top side where the nut serts are did clean up.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I found it on ebay and ordered it there, but then realized about week later that my local Autozone stocked the stuff. It's got the 3M adhesive on it and it still looks like the day I installed it. I wish it was a little wider, but I couldn't find anything wider than this that would fit. If you don't have to go carbon fiber like I do, you might be able to find something similar in black too.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Hmmmm{wheels spinnin'}, that may an option I look into. At one point I was thinking of masking everything off and rattle canning the gutters but by that time I wasted so much effort and time trying to clean the gutters that I simply caved and gave up.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I considered that too...except I wanted to use something I could brush on. Then I found this stuff. There are lots of stick-on trim options out there (especially ones meant to protect from door dings or go around fenders), and they tend to work well for things like this. Post up whatever you end up doing!
