Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

My Jeep started ticking about 5k miles ago. I've checked everything and have had everything checked by mechanics and nothing is showing to the cause. Mechanic told me to just stay on top of my fluid changes and to be proactive and not reactive as my I6 gets older. His just passed 300,000 miles!

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I seem to remember changing the valve cover to a cast aluminum one at some point on my TJ and that seemed to help quiet things down a little. Maybe a placebo effect, maybe the thicker cast part kept the noise from getting to my ears unlike the stamped steel one. It said "4.0L" on it and looked cool too. I think I got it from Quadratec.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Haha, I can tell they will be amazing, but of course I get to the last one and the old bolt stripped and spun on me. Vice grips etc wont even hold it enough to break free. Operation cutting disk will be under way soon! Yet I need to run to hardware store and get all new rear bolts anyways. Might as well. I got the front done quick and I could tell just by pushing on the front end, it was smooth.
