Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

My trusty 01 got some fresh oil and a filter before a labor day road trip. I also installed a new oil pressure sender, I was starting to notice I was constantly just above 60 on the gauge any time the engine was running. I now get the normal fluctuations and she's holding a needles width above 40 at warm idle. That sender isn't in the easiest location to get to, that said I did it with the skid plate still on... guess I was spoiled with how easy it was to replace on my old 4.0.

Spent the weekend moving my sister-in-law's mother from the old family farm to a house in town. Wish I could have bought the place from her, 160 acres of open fields, plenty of deer come fall, and lots of room to explore in a jeep or 4 wheeler. Had to remember the jeep had to get me 220 miles back home, but she did get some field time!

Also added another mod, was gonna just get a black one but found this at Advance. Finally got tired of the messed up leather, I must have corrosive skin.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Getting excited for my 6" Clayton long arm kit. it is going on in a couple of weeks. The Clayton is a welded on lift kit, with major frame gussetting as well to address frame flex. I have been running 33s, getting rubbing from front still and this is with cut out fender flares and heavily trimmed KOR Stealth bumpers front and rear. I only rub when front is fully locked to left or right and flexed out.

I want to fit some bigger tires, 34 or ideally, 35s, but due to fear of destructive rubbing thinking I might just get some ProComp Xtreme Mud terrain 2s in 33 12.50 for now.
I currently have a 4" BDS lift kit, and I am certain I will be able to flex it out with the new 6" lift without rubbing 33s but I would love to hear from any other WJ owners running a Clayton 6" LA and what tires they are fitting.
Thanks in advance.

That's a serious lift. If i had the V8 that's the LA I would throw on it. Make sure to post pictures.

Getting new tie rods and bushings this week.

(In Butthead voice): He said "rod"...and then he said "bush"...huh huh...huh huh....

I've seen the flares on a TJ done in either Rhino lining or Line-x...I forget which product. Whatever it was, it looked awesome. It resembled powdercoated textured steel. Would you do black or go for the OE gray color?

Thanks, I am looking forward to it. Unibody receives serious gussetting with the Clayton lift, want the suspension flex but want to eliminate all the unibody flex I can. Hoping the jump to a 6" will let me safely run some bigger tires. I'll post some photos, alreading saving for my D60, air locked rear in the spring!

I've seen the black rock guard/bedliner stuff on the rocker of WJ"s and it looks really good. At my shop we do the same idea, but it is a 3M stick on product. Good for covering up rust. Thinking of doing it on mine.

I carbon wrapped some interior pieces today. Figured it was time to get rid of the 'grandpa' wood grain that the wife really likes. She thinks its "Classy"!

I apologize for the crooked photography lol!
