I'm looking to in stall an after market Kenwood radio in the WJ. I was wondering if anyone knew a good place to mount a groundwire to the vehicle chassis? I was wondering if there's a good spot already in the center console area. Thanks

Thanks for the response. Just to make sure I have it right here is a pic of what I have so far. The black and grey wiring harness hooking into the Kenwood adapter. The wiring harness does not have a black negative wire the only one there is from the Kenwood adapter (circled in red). So to use the factory ground, I should just connect the negative wire from the Kenwood adapter directly to the WJ's negative wire using a wiring clamp like the blue one in the picture right?

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Trying to start it tomorrow morning to go to work. It sat in the parking lot all day with a high temp of -12 + wind chill. This weather reminds me why I hate apartment living...

I hear ya . Tucked mine in between the house, shed and a tree and the wife's against the camper to try and minimize the -40* wind chill effect tonight. Hope mine starts before hers. Man I miss my garage.

The radio works great and sound pretty good except in the front right speaker but that's been messed up for some time. That'll be the next thing to replace

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Nice looking stereo install! My factory radio is starting to skip a lot so I will probably follow in your footsteps in the spring.

I hear ya guys on the cold starts, I must have an awesome battery though the WJ has turned over almost as good outside after work as in the garage in the morning.

Well went out to go to work today. Jeep barely started. Its understandable seeing as its -18 here right now. Let it run for 20 min to warm up and then headed to work. With the 20 min it didnt even get half way to the normal operating temp. The wj wouldnt shift to 3rd so I had to travel at 50mph on the highway. Got to work and settled in to my booth (I sit in a guard shack and do security for the airport) when the guy I relieved rolled up in his xj. He has no heat and window had a solid sheet of ice over it. So we got his jeep really close to the booth and took my tiny space heater from the shack and put it on his dash to melt the ice. After about 20 min he was able to see. I hope the jeep doesn't struggle at 7am when I go home. If I dont freeze to death myself before then.

You can try the old trucker trick of putting a piece of cardboard in front of the grill...but watch your temp
