Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Well, last night the dub got a new pair of rear swaybar end links. Clunk eliminated. I also finished up some sweet new perforated steel sliding doors to hide the shelving above my workbench.
Next up are brakes. The front rotors are shot, so I'm replacing pads and rotors up front with new EBC, and replacing just the pads in the back. That's after I paint the new pads and repaint the calipers. I'm not putting green pads on there. I'm not Stonecold enough.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Nice looking garage setup Tony! What brand of end links did you get? Those are on my list now that the weather is warming up. Damn mevotech crap....

Also on the agenda: I replaced my failing factory head unit with the Sony deck I saved out of my ZJ. Gotta say I'm pretty happy that a deck thats been sitting in my garage for 4 years still works good as new! Now if only I could say the same about my 18 month old power steering pump... Thats on the agenda to get pulled and taken back to Advance, thank god its still under warranty.

Thanks dude! I had painted plywood as doors before and with it being friggin -50 degrees all the time, it bowed quickly and I have no room for framing it out, so I went with the steel pegboard. Spendy, but I'll never have to worry about it again and all the plates bolt right up. Pimpin' is hard sometimes.

I agree on the Mevotechs...I had high hopes for them with the non-rubber bushings, but they didn't last. I ended up going to Napa and getting the Napa brand ones. They are made by Dana, and we're all familiar with that label.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I did an oil change on the WJ using a Napa 1515 filter and 6.5 qts of 5w30 Napa synth. Also, topped off the antifreeze since it seemed to loose a bit during the extreme cold snap.

Worked on the trans temp gauge install a bit. I ran the wire from the temp sending unit in the pan to the gauge and mounted the gauge. I need to run the switched power, ground, and light to the gauge. Here are a few pics of the install but not wired up.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Looks good travis! It would be interesting to know the trans temp, to see if its overheating on long trips or how long it takes to warm up on a cold day. I understand the reasoning but I've always been annoyed by the warm up time to get to higher gears on cold days.

I finally finished replacing the power steering pump, its been whining like crazy and started foaming the fluid. Took it back to Advance and they replaced it under warranty. All is good in the Jeep again! After the initial fill and air bleeding its been running great I put almost 100 miles on it this weekend.

I set up a couple led strips for better light. One in the engine bay and one on the rear hatch.

The engine bay led is controlled with a pin (it was for my remote start but I never connected it). Once the hood is open, the light comes on.

This is at night. Sorry if the pics aren't that great. I took them with my phone.

Nice! This is one very useful mod! My 325i had engine bay lighting and when I got my Overland I couldn't believe that it didn't have it. The led strip is nice because there is very litte current draw, so you don't have to worry about battery life. How do the leds do with the heat?
