Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

First time posting on this site. Recently bought a 99 WJ Laredo, 4.0L, Selec-trac. Replaced the usual stuff; Valve cover gasket and ALL the gas struts.
Just finished up upgrading the EVIC to one with Homelink. After programming I realize it also has the TPMonitoring system. Also found out that only two of the TPMs in my rims work.
Next up: oil pan gasket and RMS, factory tow hitch and harness(Junk Yards are great!), and cabin air filter kit.

Welcome to the club! There's a LOT of good info on this site and on WJJeeps.com. Good luck with your fixes!

Thanks! Yeah i have scoured WJJeeps and searched here quite a bit too.
I am kinda disappointed in the lack of aftermarket for the WJ, and the 4.0L WJ, especially coming from an XJ.

I hear ya. I went from a TJ to an XJ, to my WJ. Every step along the way, the aftermarket got worse.

Full LED swap on the WJ is one of the top favorite things that I have done.
There is nothing worse then having the faded yellow lights. LEDs make it looks so much more "fancy" and modern... Plus I love everyones reaction at night when I open the doors and they get blinded because they forget I have the LEDs

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Cleaned the interior for the first time since last August... It is nice to see my charcoal gray floor mats in their natural color instead of salt grey.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

I'm REALLY considering putting the reps back on this weekend, and putting my mats back in. Maybe Sunday....

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Put a few miles on the WJ with the gauge installed. With the outside temps right at 50 degrees the highest the trans temp reached in 10 mins of around town driving was 125 degrees. Headed out on the state routes at 60 MPH and the temp dropped to just over 100. I am interested to see how things look when things warm up. I think the PML pan does a great job at heat transfer.

That radio is the Mopar RB4 - It was available in the 2004 & 2005 Dodge Rams and possibly other vehicles. This one came out of a 2004 Ram SRT-10 that got barrell-rolled at 70 MPH. It displays a sweet Jeep logo on "power-up." There are adapters that will do what you are looking for but be prepared to pay for the RB4 and the adapter.

Info on the unit: http://rb4navigation.com
