Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

How much did the glossifier help? I just used plastidip on mine. I used the matte black and went as dark as I could tho.

It gives the lights more of a shine. They wont be shiny to the point of the OEM lights but more of a satin finish while darkening the lights a bit further. I could've went darker but I stopped at a little more than half a can, which smoked both lights.

The picture with the newspaper is just the smoke. The difference is more apparent in this youtube video because the guy shows the lights side by side (skip to 2:45)

Those look really nice. I like how you were able to mask off the reverse lights. I wasn't sure how well the light would come through when they are that dark but I may add a few coats after seeing yours

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Just put some blue tape over the reverse lights and use a razor to cut the shape you want.

Exactly what I did. I did 2 wet coats of plastidip and 2 coats of the glossifier.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Next up on the WJ...an undercarriage paint job. A nice thick coat of black rustoleum. Maybe next weekend. It just got a new set of rear sway arm bushings.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Hello everyone, been a while but i've still been checking in here and there. Since about this time last year I installed a new rad, front pads/rotors, new headlight assemblies, 2 door lock actuators, U venture roof rack with shovel mount to side. Just sourced set of tow hooks off c-list. I am now in Fort Collins, CO and my WJ will get a little more use camping and fishing. Jeep was good this winter, I found 4 Full time sufficient in any snow I encountered. Did put it in a bank on a ski trip and dug it out, now I got hooks!

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

So yeah I know this has nothing to do with the WJ but I've been promising to post pics of my new ride since my WJ died. So here is Bertha: 1999 F-250 7.3L powerstroke with 4x4. And yes the odometer is correct.
