Crappy cell pic but got the AFE intake on.

Warning. This kit is for H.O. Motors!! I do not have an HO motor…AFE does not sell a kit for a non-HO motor… AFE did a horrible job with this for pre '02 WJ's. I had to cut a lot(some areas 3") of the heat shield to clear the body and EVAP hose, buy an extended breather hose, and I need to buy a different coupler at the TB. My motor needs a 3 1/4" to 3 1/2" coupler but it came with a straight 3 1/2". Called AFE and they wouldn't do anything about it.

It is still a nice setup and looks great on the WJ but wish they had two kits to differentiate between H.O. and Non-H.O. Motors. So you don't need to spend extra money on an already heavy ticket item.

It now has smoother acceleration. That is all I've noticed so far. Doesn't sound any louder, mainly because the exhaust drowns it out. Hoping to see an improvement in MPG. Would like to see 19 mixed. Right now she gets 16-18 with a P0420 code.
Brakes and exhaust are next on the list. Just got the Magnaflow 3" high flow cat in the mail. I'm going with a MBRP resonator as the muffler😍😎

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

New brakes, I'm thinking of getting a whole new brake kit. My current brakes squeak so much, when I took it in they said it was due to dust particles and should go away yet it's been 3 months and still squeaking, very odd.

Hey Street back in the day when I had my '96 the center cap used to completely cover the lugs. Looked like chrome plated coffee cans, I see they modified the design to a smaller design with fake lug nuts now . I bought Weld stainless centers plus chrome lug nuts and took the wheels to a machine shop and had the centers hogged out a little to fit the caps. Looked just like the Super Single/T50 series wheel when finished. With the Weld centers nobody could tell the difference and they looked awesome.

That's a good idea. Were they removable though? I have manual front locking hubs.
