Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Been busy messing with brakes....WJ got a new driver's rear caliper, a new rear shielded brake line (from manifold on rear axle to soft line at caliper) and two new Goodridge braided stainless rear brake hoses. Next up will be the fronts....eventually. I also ordered a new PML aluminum transmission pan and a fumitomo drain valve to go with it for my next trans service.

You will love it. Which style did you end up with? Did you get the natural, powder coated, CF, or AMBER version?

They were all out of the amber ones....or I would have gotten one to poop on.

I went natural and will likely throw on multiple coats of black, then sand the tops of the fins back to natural, and then clear the whole thing, cuz that's how I roll. I'm REALLY looking forward to having a drain, especially with a valve for changing fluid and sending samples to Blackstone.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Installed yesterday a new front parking brake cable. I could get locally a Dorman cable, which fitted very well. Whats next what is going to break

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Got that PML 11078 trans pan in today. 3 coats of Rustoleum went on yesterday. I used a Fel-Pro gasket (TOS18733) this time. Getting things lined up perfectly without bumping something and smearing that RTV is just not happening for me. After a hot/cold cycle, no leaks. I'll check again tomorrow after re-checking the fluid level. This is a seriously heavy duty pan, and it's totally worth it to have a drain plug.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Thanks dude! Just got done installing all 4 braided Goodridge brake hoses too. Did an oil change while I was at it. Now THAT is what a real man's recycling bin is supposed to look like:

Hey buddy I don't know about tying off to the spring like that. You'll probably never pull on it but a good pothole could pinch that stuff especially that fragile @ss abs wire. Maybe fab a bracket from the caliper mount or spring perch? Just watching out for ya,Amberman
