I thought a thread like this might be fun here...I know I've seen them in other forums (before I discovered the greatest forum of them all).
Here, I'll start...on my short list are:
New upper and lower radiator hoses and stainless clamps. Jeep's got about 85k on it. A new set of hoses is probably not a bad idea considering summer is almost here and the cost to do this is like $20.
Still white............ at least get a bunch of different color sharpies and rainbow those things ha ha. Seriously though i like that i may have to do that next time i have some money to burn
The way that I finally decided to hook it up is by using a splitter with 3 options for aux inputs, and I am still able to use the 10 CD changer!
Decided to mount the controller for it in the center console.
Next thing on my to do list is LED interior bulbs, I just bought everything I need. I cannot stand the dull lights.
The only thing that I do not know if I want to swap out or not are the vanity lights in the sun visors. Yea they suck, but usually no one sees them...and if they ever actually get used I feel that they would blind more than help.
You will LOVE the VLED bulbs, made an amazing difference in the look of my Jeep. I skipped doing the glove box and the visor lights, I figured they would blind my wife and for how little they are used anyway it wasnt worth the few extra bucks and the hassle of pulling them. Also, with leaving the glove box bulb I didn't need to add a resistor.
I added a resistor to the rear dome light and did them all...including the vanity lights that I never use. Makes a world of difference when you switch. VLED has a killer product! Be prepared to spend some $$$ though. That chit ain't cheap. Plus it's addicting....
Everything on this site is addicting. Without it I'd have no tuner, shift kit, LED bulbs almost everywhere, projector halos with HIDs, LED tails, sway bars, expensive shocks... but most important without JG I'd have no FUN with the jeep! well, less fun anyway.
Next up for me is to open up my headlights again and replace my CF wrapped (previously ugly ass amber reflectors) with ones I had dipped, and replace one of the lenses with a "back up" one I have. Then put the reps back on and give it a full correction. Busy weekend ahead!
I've said it already...if I dip that shroud, those badges are going back on bro...just for you...hahhahaha
And yeah, I can't stand the fantastic plastic when I've got freshly polished reps sitting in the shed. I may change my mind if the weather takes a turn for the worse, but the roads are salt free...the temptation is too much! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TJXJWJ,
How did you mount the resistor for the rear cargo light? I am worried about it getting super hot.
Also, did you just solder a resistor in, or use one of the little resistor anti hyper blink things?
I used one of those "anti hyper blink things" and mounted it to a metal brace up in the ceiling area that would keep it away from any plastic or headliner. I put the resistor in line with the plug coming into the light fixture and left enough wire to get me where I wanted to be with the part that gets hot. It's basically under that plastic trim piece that holds the headliner up all the way in the back. When you unclip that, you'll see a few good spots where you can mount it.
Mine got a full paint correction, detailed under the hood, touched up the calipers with some fresh paint, and put the SRT reps back on. It's about damn time that spring gets here...
