Dude, that is SWEET! That's a nice idea for the ol' gas tank skid too.

Oh yes! Feels great especially since I've saved about 100 in labour. It's also a bonus that it doesn't sound like a Lancaster bomber anymore too lol

they will for sure last longer than the body around all this salt! I will have to get that done when I do my oil pan. Still cant believe Chrysler made such a critical part out of the cheapest steel they could find...

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Picked up the power steering fluid today (same stuff as recommended by WJJeeps) and it was clear as expected. However, turns out the stuff in the reservoir is red!? Once the pipe (or whatever is wrong) gets fixed it will be refilled with the good stuff tho...

However, after speaking with my dad the other night I'm gonna need to have a good think about my future plans for the Jeep... I thought we'd be together for life, but IDK. Next on my list is to fit a double-DIN radio and upgrade all the suspension but that will cost me 2k-2.5k to do. Next year I was planning on building the motor and tranny and thought 6-7k for that.

Then I think, is it even worth wasting 2k on what is a 10 year old car and worth about at 4k market value. It is factory fresh, guy repairing a stone chip on the wind shield thought I was kidding when I said it was an '02. Just turned 50k so its not exactly done any mileage either. But I think if I done the motor I'd be kicking myself in 2-3 years. I've spent a lot on the car already (almost double what I paid for it) and don't regret a penny - other than that s***y vinyl wrap - but I don't know if I can justify anymore.

Looking at BMW 5 series, Merc C class and Volvo S60s and I think one of those will be my car next year - maybe even a diesel one . So aside from fixing this power steering leak I might be calling it a day on the old gal... Am I nuts?

Not nuts, just (painfully) sensible. Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. Love my Jeep but she's getting up there in age. I think I'm gonna go for a newer Challenger and demote the WJ to a rental car for my detail customers.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

After a date with the WJ today. Clean up included hand wash, clay bar, Meguire's 87 polish, and a hand-applied coat of Liquid Glass.

This pic was taken after a few miles on the local gravel roads.

The factory rocker paint is metallic and my wife did not notice it until I cleaned it up. The painted rockers were part of the reason I wanted the Columbia Edition.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Yeah, that's what I thought too, Cameron. Gonna just enjoy it for a year now without spending a dime on it (aside from oil and any issues that is).

Always loved the E60 BMWs so that will probably be where I go. Least whatever I go for will handle great and get better mileage - not to mention I won't need a ladder to wash it!

Nice work Travis, nothing beats the feel of freshly clayed paintwork.... mmmm....

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Have F&B released a new version of the 72mm TB or what upgrades did they do to it? Intrigued...

Oh, and we need some new videos of your WJ!!
