What are you doing to your WJ next?

I thought a thread like this might be fun here...I know I've seen them in other forums (before I discovered the greatest forum of them all).

Here, I'll start...on my short list are:

New upper and lower radiator hoses and stainless clamps. Jeep's got about 85k on it. A new set of hoses is probably not a bad idea considering summer is almost here and the cost to do this is like $20.

Hopefully getting some parts hydro-graphic'd

Installing a bored TB (70mm)

Swapping out billet grille inserts for black mesh

Did a front brake job today. Painted front calipers red (would have preferred a different color a little less "loud", but... ) .. it looks good with the Plasti-dipped JK rims I did today!! I have Wrangler Unlimited X steel wheels on my Grand Cherokee and I've been contemplating it since I bought them, just never knew how to do it the RIGHT way until I came here to this site. So I did the wheels and center caps and with the chrome lug nuts, and yes, the red calipers, she looks AWESOME! Tomorrow, the REAR brakes...and painted calipers.

Installed my Utah jeep crew sticker and also installed my k&n cold air intake wow does it make the engine growl I ordered my Kolak Exhaust setup it should be shipped out hopefully today

Sent from my SCH-I605 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
Man, I have mine straight piped, until my borla comes in, and does it ever sound good with the new intake at the mid-high rpms! I'm thinking maybe keep it straight!

Got transmission service, replace transmission cooler lines, and one other hose. I've realized the grey plastic trim looks whitened and getting worse and have no idea what to do except maybe replace with OEM parts.

What's up guys, just checking back in on the forum to see how you all are getting on. The Jeep bug has bitten me again and I will be back in the seat of one probably Spring time next year, with either a WK 5.7 or WK SRT8, going to probably hold out for a SRT though - rare beasts here...

All your Jeep's are still looking sweet, just surprised Tony hasn't dipped his full truck yet! LOL

SouthBay, you can actually just paint the plastic trim on your Jeep. Ryan, 99limited, done this a little while back and the results were very good - click here to go to the thread. He put the instructions on page 2. Would work out a lot cheaper than renewing everything and easier - the door moulding is a PITA to remove...

Southbay, don't listen to Marty...you should clearly CF dip everything...:D

That's good to hear Marty! Looking forward to seeing what you do with an SRT:thumbsup:

Believe me that panelling is a complete PITA to remove, bodyshop had to charge me extra for removing it to paint it to remove the little chips etc. However, it is possible and CF would actually look pretty good.

Yeah, I miss tinkering on stuff, everything that adds power to the Merc costs $$$$'s and the results aren't worth it (ie. $2k for a CF airbox to gain 10hp - yeah right!)... Either 5.7 or 6.1 I could purchase a supercharger kit for not that much more than that to net 100HP+.

....one day....one day in the distant future, I'll have to have my plate changed from "pre SRT" to "actual SRT". hehehhehe

Took her in to get new CV Joints and front brakes fitted today, going to pick my baby up tmrw and take it for a good ol' car wash. :)

Too scared to do any mods now that she's running so well, I'm still thinking about fitting her with some nice thick 5spoke 17inch rims. I dig the WK2's rims, tempted to get a set.

If they are the CCFL ones, that little ballast is probably the culprit. Swap them from left to right and see if the issue moves over. If it does, you know that's the part you need. They can be found on e-bay I believe.

#1,758 ·
Yeah, it should be in-line with the thin white and red wires coming from the halo itself, out the rubber grommet in the back of the housing and to a plug termination where the ballast gizmo plugs into it. It's about a 3"x1" black plastic rectagular box with some chinese writing on it.

Wee too lo
How lan dis ting:thumbsup:

Just installed a 2.5" coil lift and Bilstein 5100's.
I also added .75" spacers on the front to level it out.
I'm still running 275/45/20 Blizzaks on 20" SRT polishjed reps.
No Rubbing at all, looking to upgrade to Cooper Zeon LTZ's in the 265/55/20 flavor though.
Here's some pics:

I swear, SRT reps look good regardless of whether you lift it, leave it, or drop it. Looks great dude!

Next week is a good week for my WJ. lot of good stuff going on my jeep. Alloy front axles, trussed, gussets, 4.56 and air locker. getting dual arb compressor. Getting rid of transfer case drop mount (BDS) by doing slip yoke elimination and new drive shaft. IRO Low profile crossmember and new diff covers front and rear.
Putting 4.56 and truss in rear. no locker. will do ECGS Dana 60 WJ kit with an arb air locker in spring if my saving goes well and will then be selling my d35 4.56 axle.
Pair of led auxiliary lights mounted on my bumper connected to high beams plus cabin switch.
Rock sliders from IRO.

I've got ccfl halos and on the left one, one of the rings is much dimmer than the others in cool weather and eventually gets like the rest
Only happens in cold weather, well in L.A. I'd say anywhere in the lower 60s, during the summer, it never happens. Isn't that really weird? And for anyone with HID's, what K do you suggest? I think I'm at 8k but the halo headlights don't throw the light out as far as my stock headlights used to. Thanks!

The halos do that because they have florescent gas in them and need to heat up to full brightness i believe. And your projectors should be way brighter, I was running the same lights as you with the same 8000K and it was way brighter than stock.
