On the basis of the information you have provided, it would appear that
there would be no problem with the vehicle passing its MOT in 2012. Please
note that as we cannot see the vehicle, we can only advise in general
terms.
Section 1.7 of the Private Passenger and Light Commercial Vehicle
inspection manual gives the general requirements for headlights (eg similar
output from the lights, colours, etc) and states that where washers or
self-levelling systems are fitted on HID lamps they must work.
HID lamps that have an output of less than 2000 Lumens do not need headlamp
levelling or washing.
It is also not possible for an MOT tester to determine whether or not a
particular lamp is more than 2000 Lumens or not. The MOT test therefore
uses the lowest criteria that can realistically be applied; so if a
particular vehicle is fitted with a headlamp levelling or washing system,
then we consider it logical to assume that it requires it by law and
therefore it must work.

Basically, as long as they are fitted in projector housings and the beam pattern is correct, they're legal. Washer and auto levellers, if present, are assumed to be required and therefore must not be defective and function as intended.

Took her to the car wash:

Lol, lady at McDonalds said she's stunning, like it was her 1st time seeing a WJ, lol! Maybe she hasnt seen any in the same colour as mine, but WJs certainly arent rare here, i see more WJs than WKs here, but i see A SH*TLOAD of WK2s, im pretty sure the Grand Cherokee is one of the Top3 most popular top end SUVs along with the X5 and Range Rover Sport here.

I'm not gonna argue with her...clearly she has excellent taste...ahahhha.
Lift the Libby! They're not bad except she's gonna hate the gas mileage.

You kidding me? My wife is like 4' or something.

Yeah, the gas mileage is terrible on them. Luckily her drive to work is literally 5 minutes.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Alright Tony, of course another Jeep!

The 01 got fresh gear oil front and rear Sunday, Amsoil 75w-140. Runs great, I could almost swear she rolls out of the garage better than before. No extra additive used for the quadra drive, she still locks up well but no chatter on turns. I'm a little worried about the rear end, there was a fair amount of crap built up on the magnet, but the gears all looked ok so I think I'm fine for now.

Interior LED Upgrade Dome, courtesy lights (at Handles) and Trunk Light. Hell lot of a difference.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Installed a new oil pressure sending unit after watching the gauge drop to nothing 3 times yesterday while running errands yesterday. A bit of throttle pressure and the gauge would jump up to normal. Came home and went straight to Napa and ordered a new unit Echlin OP6722. When I pulled the old unit out it and the plug was filled with oil. I cleaned the plug with contact cleaner and installed the new sensor with a brass "T" that will allow me to install a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Also upgraded to a Napa Gold 1515 oil filter which added another 1/2 quart capacity to the oil system.

That being said, I wonder how many bad oil pressure sending units have helped these 4.7s melt down?

Here is the T I installed. The sensor threaded into the end of the closest to the camera and the far end threaded into the block. The port on the right side of the fitting will be used for the aux oil pressure gauge.

Sensor filled with oil:

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Yikes Travis, nice catch on the oil pressure sender, I have to go check mine now. I've noticed lately that the pressure pretty much stays in one place, almost no fluctuations at all. Everything seems to be running ok, but if that changes I wouldn't know until its too late...

I really wonder if these should be on the "regular maintenance" list. At $10 one cannot afford to change it. Now to get the aux gauge ordered and installed. Electronic or mechanical? Can't decide.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

That's my poor Jeep found its way to the scrap yard now, guys were all over it. The garage I left it at gathered round at the end and said "shall I slap him or do you want to do it, you are fricking mental scrapping that thing, it was mint".

So that's the end of that chapter.

Will never, ever, modify a car to that extent again in my life!

Can I get that in the form of a signed contract?
