Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

New back brakes and a WK2/Liberty style rooftop amplified antenna because I'm tired of lousy radio reception. Price was right so I bought two. These new Advance premium ceramic brakes are to replace my rears that I drove overheated for about 6 miles this summer to get to a gas station. Got to highly recommend my Summit slotted and dimpled rotors because they survived the ordeal just fine. Can't wait to see what the pads look like. Also these new Advance ceramics are supposed to have tested better than anything out there so we will see.

Yikes that sucks. Probably best to get the other end too while you're at it. I consider myself lucky then that mine all came out with just a little persuasion. It's always something on these damn things isnt it?

Yeah dude...I was due. I've had WAY good luck on mine and the KK these days. It's like all my good luck piles up and then I pay for it in one shot. This is that one shot. I found the drag link tube and the other (pitman arm) tie rod end, for $70 total from Summit, so I ordered them tonight. The stealer wanted $120 for just the drag link tube! I'll have it all pre-holiday, so I'll find time in between stuffing my face to get it all installed. I took it out today due to my Starbucks addiction and it seemed no worse for wear, so I'll be able to get by for the next few days with a crooked steering wheel and a seized up end link. At least I know it's not coming out on me...hahhaha. Yesterday I tried putting a new serpentine belt on the KK...same thing. No go. Had to throw the old one back on before I put my fist through something. My blood pressure should return to normal by the middle of the week from this ordeal, so I'll give it another go then. I will not be defeated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let us know how those brake pads work out...I've had a hard time finding anything I really like outside of EBC. Where exactly are you mounting those antennas?

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Same place as your Libby bro. Gonna pull the headliner this winter and do it right. Just bought an extra one for a spare. Also while I'm in there I'm gonna try to find a way to make the sun roof open all the way. Maybe with a '99 module. Been fighting lousy radio reception since I eliminated the fender antenna and I want to get my HD tuner up and running so I gotta do something because it's been sitting in the box for a year.

You'll be lucky to get one here. Mansfield 4x4 would be the only shop and they don't have any. Just one of the advantages of owning an American car in this country when you want to upgrade/modify it - you got to pay through the nose at customs.

I'd just bite the bullet and get it from Summit Racing, you can also pre-pay the taxes at checkout on the site now. Won't hurt that much.

I have advance pads on the car, they are just semi metallic but put out way less dust than the previous pads. Good performance too. I'd have used them on the jeep but I ended up getting everything from R1. I hope the antenna install goes well, look forward to seeing progress pics!

It always seems to run in streaks. I just had an eerily easy time putting a new muffler and silverstars on the PT, I'm nervous how my exhaust install will go on the WJ (if I ever get all the parts). With all new parts for that drag link I think it should go smoothly from here on out, I hesitate saying this but on mine the hardest part was removing the rod end from the pitman arm, hopefully yours goes better. Ha, thats really bad luck to have trouble with a belt, was it not the right size?
