I've got rubber conveyor belting over my garage concrete pad, and use a propane heater that takes the bottle off the barbeque grill for when I have to work out there in the dead of winter. The rubber belting really makes rolling around on the floor a lot better than bare concrete too.
Meet "Super Suck and Blow"Really sucks the oil and capable of blowing stuff off the wall when the blower kicks on.That reminds me I got to get the barrel filled Not bad really I heat the garage mostly on weekends and go through about 60 gal a winter. It will bring my 24 x 32 garage up to temp in under 4 min.

Angry Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

In the middle of a nutsert nightmare.

Took off my roof rack a year and half ago now, and had been running with just simple caulking filling the ten open nutserts. Well, I figured it was high time to take a more stable/attractive approach so I went to work.

Dug out the old caulking and hand-filed the nutserts to remove as much surface rust as I could. Then I followed up coating them all with a rust-stopping primer and top coat of paint. Picked up some clear silicone and ten push-in fasteners with the intention of doing what I had seen many others do to cover the holes.

And then the problems began...

The fasteners that I had purchased would not even go halfway in the holes, and no amount of reasonable force would convince them otherwise. Ran back out and bought a more slender variety (this time taking even more careful note that they matched the size of the old torx screws that came out of the nutserts. Yeah, well, they didn't go in either...

Turns out they shafts were too wide with the plastic threads on them and even squishing them with pliers couldn't make them small enough. Would take way too long to file them down to size so I went on to my plan B: set screws.

Found some nice black ones at the local hardware store and using their thread size checking tool took the ones that seemed a perfect match to the original torx screws. I eagerly went to work putting the first one in--a little tougher to twist in than the stock screws, but it was going in. Just a short 3/8" shaft anyway. Almost there...... Damn. The entire nutsert started spinning.... screw almost in but not quite. Won't go any further and won't back up.

I desperately tried to brace the nutsert with a flat head screw driver while trying to back out the set screw but I couldn't stop the spinning. And then screw driver slipped out and put a nice scratch on my Grand's roof. And that was that.

Not sure what to do now. Very frustrated by the whole thing. Even wishing I passed on my WJ now and waited for a WK to come along. Would have been so easy to put the SRT8 roof rack delete rails on...

Any advice...? Haha...

Yes...walk away for awhile...when I have a day like this, I have to walk away. Usually after a day or two, I can go back and things work out. Try cutting the plastic inserts so they are shorter. I remember cutting off quite a bit with side-cutters before inserting. As for your spinner...you may need to pull down the headliner to see if you can grab it from underneath. It's going to take at least the same amount of force to unscrew as it took to screw, so only you know what it's going to take. There really isn't anything to grab from the top to keep it from spinning, which sux.

I agree...i wish there were some kind of rail you could use in the WJ that would cover the holes. I even gave some thought to cobbling something out of some strips of stainless or plastic that I could paint to match, but never really went anywhere with it.

replacing the HID bulbs in my fogs. Drivers side was a weird color for a bit, and then bit the dust LOL. Installing another set of 3000K.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Finally got my tie rod situation squared away. I got the one that goes on the pitman arm, and a new drag link rod. After pounding the shiz out of the link at the pitman arm, I finally got it to come off (using Aaron's suggestion of using a bar and pounding it with a hammer from inside the engine compartment). Still a hooker, but I got it off. Once I did, the nut was all mangled from being beat on, so I had to bust out the grinder and cut it off. Nothing is easy. I assembled the new parts using plenty of anti-seize on the rod end threads. I got the overall length as close as possible to the one I removed, and went ahead and installed, torquing to OE specs and greasing all the fittings. I centered up the steering wheel, tightened down the tube and I was all set. I've got one original tie rod end left...and it's not bad yet....not looking forward to when that one goes.
