Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

My gauge needle light project fizzled so going to remove the clear coat and repaint the wheels, paint the calipers, and hit up the lube points (bout due for some grease) Monday. Then it'll be on to the rest of the interior lights.

What happened to cause your project to fizzle?

Installed the new motor mount so now I need to plan the torque convertor removal.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

...and the whoring begins!

Some comparison shots:

Some measurements of the top to give you an idea of the difference:

And the bottom:

I bolted this up this afternoon (70mm), fired it up and let it idle for a little. It idled higher than usual for a few seconds, then settled down. I took it out for a little drive. I got to the end of my road...my road intersects with a relatively busy 4 lane road that's a bitch to make a left onto sometimes. I got a clearing and laid it down...throttle response is VERY crisp and it feels like I got a bit more pull out of the engine. I don't have scientific evidence or dyno numbers...but the butt dyno approves. In my opinion, this is a very worthwhile mod.

Only the LEDs for the small gauges worked, now only one of the two work. Looked cheaply made, someone making them in their garage would probably have better quality. Maybe someone else will have better luck with doing something like that to their needles. After I do the rest of the interior, I'll give it another try or figure something else out with the needles.

I think I'm going to put my tow hitch back on. I also want to get a set of headlights and tail lights.

I can't tow, but I figured if I break down I can at least pull it. I also want to get a cargo carrier for the receiver.
