I'm going to call the stealership today and get some replacement bolts so that I could hopefully tackle it this coming weekend. I expect it to be a total pain in the azz, but we'll see. I'll be sure to do a write up on it.

Of course this happens right after I'm finally ready to take it in for the ball joints. How am I supposed to afford more carbon-fiber dipping when this ish keeps happening?!
I will keep an eye out for that write-up, I'm having the same problem. Nothing like a good exhaust leak in the cold to make sure you hear that engine running!

Yeah dude...I feel like Uncle Jesse from the Dukes of Hazzard when I fire it up. Then after a minute it goes back to its old, subdued, beastly growl. I just got back from the stealership...under $50 got me:
4 manifold bolts (drivers side)
4 manifold studs (drivers side)
1 gasket (in case I end up having to remove the entire manifold)
2 nuts (manifold to downpipe)
2 bolts (manifold to downpipe)

I have to say, I expected worse. Hopefully I can tackle this on my own because while I was there I walked over to the service dept who quoted me 8-10 hours at $100 an hour. I figured I'd ask to give myself extra motivation to work on this myself.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Well, it's in the shop today. I went in for ball joints, and the ball joints are actually fine! It's the friggin end links I replaced. Apparently Mevotech from Summit Racing is crap, so I'll be returning those and installing some Moogs maybe over the weekend if it's not 11 friggin degrees out. So being that I don't need to pay for ball joints, it's in there getting the manifold bolt removed and replaced. It's an independant shop that I've used before...and they seem to believe they will be able to get it out without major surgery. Fingers crossed...

Anyone recommend any GOOD front end links?

Interesting, I haven't had a problem with my mevotechs on the rear bar, my stockers were ok up front. I've liked everything I've ever bought from Moog, rock auto sells them at a good price and you can find a 5% off code just by google searching "rock auto discount"

Actually, I just looked and I lied. The fronts are Proforged from Summit. Mevotech didn't have ones for the front. I have Mevotech on the back and haven't had any issues with them either.

It's going to be Moog unless something better pops up in the next day or two. I've never had any issues with Moog parts and they are usually readily available at my local Napa. It's no rush though, so I'll price out RockAuto too and see if they are still cheaper with shipping than Napa is without shipping.

$hit always breaks in the friggin winter. Whopping 11 degrees here this morning.

Please kindly keep your mouth shut. Haha just kidding, although I like snow I'm not a fan of cold. Which is why the WJ will be getting a new thermostat before this weekend's trip. Also gonna try and blow out the heater core if I can, I'm getting luke warm air at best and the wife won't be happy with that for a 4 hour drive. Hopefully this is the problem, I already checked last years blend door replacement and all is well there.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Jeep's been in surgery since 8am...just came out. Doctor says he's doing fine and is fully recovered. Gasket and bolts replaced on driver's side. Thank you everyone for your prayers and all the beautiful flowers you sent. I'll be reunited at 5:30.

Tonight everyone...go home and hug your Jeep, okay?

Good to hear surgery went well! My wife gets jealous when I show affection to my jeep though so I will have to buy her something shiny to compensate.

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Today I had to decide which color basketball shorts I was going to wear.

Glad to hear the Jeep made it to the other side!

I'm gonna kick mine. Mechanically she's fine. But one of my fog lights isn't working and one of my halos isn't working as well.
