How many miles do you have on the (assumed) OEM TRE's and Ball joints? What does the steering feel like that you made the decision to replace all these? Just looking for thoughts as my original Ball joints and mostly orig TRE's are still tight, and steering wanders very little @160k miles. I may want to do these as well if it will eliminate all the wander.

Sounds like you are getting ready for some real fun! Just be careful working around that toxic green stuff under your Jeep! You will like those moog tie rod ends, they made a world of difference on mine!

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Just for the record...and so you're prepared...I ended up having to buy a new drag link bar because the outer rod end would not come out. It would spin, but the threads were junk and it would not back out. Just sayin'....you may not want to destroy the ends until you know they are backing out ok. I ended up needing a MAP torch and a big arse pipe wrench to get mine off.

Well my wj just turned 70k and I just figured since I'm gutting the whole factory suspension now that this would be the perfect time to change everything out when a lot of the major components are already out of the way. I figure I'll be starting out with a brand new steering/suspension/driveline combo and hopefully never have to touch anything under there as long as I'm going to own it. Nothing stands out as worn but I don't want to be ripping into it again 20k later. Really just preventative maintenance is all.

To my great dismay bro the kit has metal stuff to replace the green stuff
Good to hear about the TRE's bud. I've following you guys lead with this steering stuff. Thanks for all the good advise.

I think the DL is ok cause I had to center the steering wheel with it last year but with my luck my issue will probably be with the tie rod Thanks for the tip bro! Now I know what to watch out for.
