I have to beat a HO all the time.

Anyway. Isn't the point of the HO to be a high output engine compaired to the regular 4.7. And there are numbers to back that up. So yes just heads up a stock HO will beat the stock 4.7. Unless you want to throw some inexperienced drivers in there that don't know what they are doing, and possibly 2wd versus 4wd.

Doesn't matter 206WJ....none of that makes any difference. The REAL fact of the matter is that mine has a pair of REAL carbon fiber license plate frames. That automatically adds like 100hp. Everyone knows that the moment you add real CF to a vehicle, it exponentially improves it's performance.

Re: What is faster?

HO hands down stock vs stock even in an Overland. I've had both.

Damn it I didn't account for the extra weight reduction and downforce that would add too. I may have to put some stickers on mine too to add more on the top end of mine.

Re: What is faster?

I have had both too, the HO seems faster in 0 to 60 type hard acceleration.

However the regular 4.7 that I had (2000) would turn about 200 rpm higher at 70mph than the 2004 HO does, so the regular 4.7 would actually hold it's speed on a grade with out a downshift better than my current Overland does.

I have (or had) a freedom edition with the 4.7HO and it doesn't have all the weight like the overland. The
HO is faster.

That's odd. I've had both also and both of mine turned the same RPM and the same speed..

I never got the flash to upgrade the overdrive ratio in the 45RFE transmission that my 2000 had.

The 2004 has the 545RFE transmission.
