Where to buy all metal radiator?

I have a 2003 Laredo w/ the 4.0L engine. Unfortunately, Jeep cannot design a good radiator and mine has started to leak (at just 120k miles) just like all the others. It's leaking where the metal meets the plastic on the radiator.

I've heard that you can buy all metal radiators, but cannot locate one. Does anyone know where you can find a replacement radiator that doesn't have the plastic?

Re: Where to buy all metal radiator?

Eventhough the aluminum/plastic radiator will create a leak over time, it is a question if the all metal one will last longer. Depending on which material its made of, you probably also have to change to an other coolant. Also using different types of metal in the cooling system, could create a source of electrolitical corrosion. So search around on the net first to see the compatability of the type of radiator you want to use.

The problem is I'm wondering if anyone here has a source for an all metal radiator. You can look online and there's a lot of people with the 4.0L engine who dump the plastic/metal radiator for an all metal one. But I have yet to see where they bought the radiator. I'm just trying to see if anyone here knows where to buy one.

I don't think it's much of a question on what one will last longer. This crappy plastic one lasted < 10 years and 120k miles, it's a piece of junk.

Do you see yourself keeping the Jeep another 10 years and to 240k miles? If not, maybe just go with the regular one.

I drive about 20k miles a year because work is 35 miles away. I would like to keep for another 10 years or more. But all the radiators with metal tanks were in the $500 range. So I bought another crappy plastic one and will plan on replacing it again in another 120k miles. It came down to the fact that I can replace the plastic radiator 4 times (almost 500k miles) before the price equals that of the metal tank radiator.
