Whining in first.

Anybody else have a 42re that whines in first gear, starts off low then gets louder until it disappears when shifting into 2nd, or have this problem until their tranny blew up?
sorry, its not very loud in the video.

Difficult to tell, could be an internal bearing. The sound doesn´t come back in any other gear? Did you check the fluid level/color?

Only in 1st, just checked fluid again its about a half quart low or so, Ill top that up, color was pinkish red. might just change fluid and filter soon and see if that clears it up.

At least you can check then if any foreign material is in the pan or metal on the magnet, which could indicate internal problems.
