Much like this...

whats the point in blowing the motors up? releasing antifreeze into the ground when the connecting rod shoots through the water jacket in the side of the block?

Re: Why i own a jeep!!!!

For the C4C scheme they had to pour a glass solution into the oil and run it at full rpms till it totally expanded and locked/sealed the motor and then crush the vehicle. No company that took part in the disposal of the cars were allowed to salvage/resell a thing from those cars.

A crazy scheme just to get what $2k off a new car if your car was healthy. Thanks to the strict disposal scheme many cars (some very rare and/or good examples) got destroyed. I suppose it worked out for ford and chevy tho.

Back OT, the 4.0 is an almost indestructible engine but running after a piston blew out is incredible. The 4.7 would have lasted probably less than 30 secs with the 'juice' they put in.

EDIT: Star to finish guide on C4C engine destruction

I find this to be absolutely ridiculous. (not what you were saying, but the c4c program)

I see the point in trying to get more fuel efficient vehicles on the road and less fuel efficient ones off. but what is the true point in locking the motor up and crushing the car? like you said, im sure there are many rare vehicles that were disposed of because of this c4c program...

The entire concept of destroying resources to drive the economy is something only a large group of retards could think of, never mind implement.

Re: Why i own a jeep!!!!

Yeah, absolutely sickening. Heck even some 06's were killed off in there.

Stacey David's show Gearz done a episode on it - clicky.

I'm not saying Kia is any good, but they have made HUGE strides in the past 5ish years. You know, starting at about the point where they took one of Audi's engineers.

For what it's worth, it was $4.5k for a vehicle. What drove me crazy was that my neighbor traded in a mint Jeep Wagoneer with less than 70k miles on the clock and it was junked out. I would have paid him $4,500 in cash if I knew he was going to trash it like that.

Ill agree Kia has gotten better. IMO they are still near the bottom of the list. Audi, however, is a really nice car, from a standpoint of someone who has ridden in them once or twice. A friend at work has one and he loves it. Actually, im half tempted to take his headlights and retro fit them to my WJ. the lights actually turn when you go around a corner! also with automatic high beams!! lol

I wouldn't take an Audi over a Kia. But I would take a Ford/Chrysler over a Audi/BMW/Mercedes. I'm not into having a vehicle that has every bell and whistle (which I don't really like) that breaks and costs an arm/leg to fix. Just my personal taste, but I'm not into those vehicles at all.
