Wj overheating

I know this is a common question, but I have to know. My wj overheats in stop and go traffic (relay). My question is can u put the relay somewhere else? And also has a fan clutch, why can't that keep the engine cool? Why does it need the help of the e-fan? Shouldn't the fan clutch be enough to keep it cool?

Btw I changed my fan clutch about 5 times, so I know that's not the problem.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Wj overheating

Ofcourse you could put the relay somewhere else, if the wireing allows you to. But for what reason would you like to move it?
Many times this relay fries due to the cooling fan which draws too much current.
Also the mechanical fan is not enough when the engine idles.
Did you check that you have the right fan drive viscous clutch, it should have "REVERSE" marked on it.
What year is your jeep, because in 2004 they changed from the PWM relay under the headlight to two separate normal relays (hi speed and lo speed) in the PDC.
