Re: WJ Plans for The Summer

I'm pretty sure it's the same projector that is used in the headlights...if not, very close as far as output. Spread is not as good as OEM, but brightness is much improved. I feel that my projector headlights make up for the lack of spread on the fogs. I was more concerned with them matching the new headlights than anything else. I didn't want halogen colored fogs with HID headlights.

I don't think anyone can disagree with you on that last one lol, no one likes an ugly fog color below/beside HID's. I'm interested in the projector fogs but I think I might just go with either OEM replicas or a clear fog style.

Sorry, I couldnt find my good camera so here's a quick cell pic of the 3rd brake light aiming towards my wall so you can get an idea of how intense they are.
I'll PM you better pics later if you're still interested.

Re: WJ Plans for The Summer

@CherokeeOnToyos: Cool man, I do appreciate it and yes they do look pretty intense. That would be very cool if you could PM me some pics, but don't feel rushed about it, do it at your own leisure.

Also, That particular LED 3rd brake light has 8 diodes right? I've seen on Ebay that there are 8 and 10 LED versions.

This one looks similar to yours but red, As you can see in the pic it has 8 LED's but the lit up pic in the corner of it is the wrong model lol

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...Q5fAccessories

There is also this model with 10 LED's, I'm kind of leaning towards this one but am not sure.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...Q5fAccessories

@TJXJWJ: I forgot a while back you put up some pictures of the 10 LED version of the 3rd brake light. I wonder which one out of the 8 and 10 versions is brighter. Logic dictates it would be the 10 but I'm not sure. Also, have you ever contemplated getting a different pair of tail lights for your WJ?

Re: WJ Plans for The Summer

Yeah, with the LED 3rd brake lamps, it again was not about the brightness for me and more about matching the fact that everything else was LED. I also liked the housing and look more than the red OEM lens. Whether it's 8 or 10, either way, it beats the hell out of the stock lens and weak ass bulb.

As for tails, I have contemplated...I don't like anything. I got these because I had to get something...I hate the orange on the stockers. What I may do eventually is put the stockers back on and send my aftermarket ones off to be tinted, or vice versa...but it's not something on my short list. I'm just happy to not have any orange reflectors going on back there. The ones I have are IPCW brand and I've run them on my last 2 Jeeps...no leakage, no issues at all. I'm a little iffy about buying tails that have built in LED's because if one of those bulbs goes, you're screwed. With these, I can just change my bulb.

@CherokeeOnToyos: I remember in your video off of youtube where you're detailing the mods on your Jeep that you mentioned you were running the the V-HID kits from V-LED's. How do you like them and are they of good quality? (I imagine they are with their LED's being superb lol) I usually run with DDM but I see V-HID are at a pretty competitive price.

I'm really happy with the V-HID's. I've had them for over a year with no problems. I used to have a DDM Kit but I couldnt get them to match with the V-LED 5000k LED's in my parking lights. So I just went with the V-HID 5k Kit and they match up perfectly. I think they're like $59.99 now + the 15% off coupon code. I got them when they were $99.99.

Sounds good, I'm curious as to how yellow their 3000k kit is, Hopefully it produces a good color.
