420 Stroker build

Just started on this.

2005 Ram RCSB 2wd
Rage 420" Stroker
246/254 .6XX" lift 117 LSA Cam- 16* Overlap @ .050 (Believe this is a PWR spec'd grind)
Rage Big Valve ported Eagle heads w/ Big valves
Ported 6.1 manifold
FRP-style ported TB (Was not ported by me)
4.56 gears
Caltracs
ATS Built 545RFE w/ 2200 stall (ATS sent wrong converter, 4000 stall coming soon)
PCM/TCM tune from us.

It was previously tuned at a prominent shop known for their GM tuning, and put down 489 rwhp. However the drivability was absolute crap and frequently stalled at red lights, and had major surging. The idle was at 1500rpm to get it to idle.

1st and only trip out to the track on his old tune resulted in a 12.01 @ 112 mph. This was with his stock trans and a CircleD 4000 (was a 3400 on his 5.7). He smacked the rev limiter in 1st, 2nd, and lost 3rd gear altogether @ the 1000 ft marker, lol.

To the best of my knowledge this is the biggest cam that has been tamed in a Ram truck. If not, it is very close.

We scrapped his old tune because it was a POS and wrote a scratch file based off a N/A 392 we tuned. We have some refining to do, but it is now idling happily at 900 rpm on the base file. No stalling, minimal surge.

Vids and pics soon.
