Re: FRP TB Group Buy

Got mine today... already installed with my K&N CAI. It's awesome!

I posted pics of the TB and brief review in the vendor feedback thread.

Thanks Ryan! EXACTLY what I was hoping to accomplish!

Awesome Justin. Very happy to hear that you feel the difference. I would have liked to see if you felt a discernable difference between stock TB + K&N versus FRP TB + K&N, but realistically, the CAI makes more noise than power.

Did you reset the PCM (i.e disconnect the battery) when you installed everything? If not, it will take some time for everything to re-learn. When Frankie first installed his FRP TB on his '06 5.7, initally he didn't feel a thing, then when I asked him a week later he was raving about it.

Re: FRP TB Group Buy

To those of you that are waiting on 5.7 FRP throttle bodies, I need a small favor:

I need you to post up the part number on your current TB. This PN can be found on the plastic part of your TB housing. once you find it, post it up on here. Ray by accident recieved a ported TB that was not compatible with his Jeep, so I want to see what everyone elses part number is.

No resetting of anything. If it gets better from what I notice now, I'll be even happier.

My goal was primarily an improvement in mpg and response... both of those I notice immediately.

I don't drive with my foot in the floor as often as I should... but I know it's there when I need it.

I want to see my avg highway mpg jump... my commute is 37 miles each way - with 20 of that at 60-70 over a little mountain pass and a long freeway.

I love it... I hope it gets better! Like I noted, I'll post another review once I've put a couple of tanks of gas through (and everything re-calibrates.

Re: FRP TB Group Buy

You should see a pretty significant improvement over the next tankful. After 200-300 miles, everything should be settled in. It will likely take even less than that but it depends on alot of variables.

People seem to consistently report better WOT performance- from my own testing, it's the throttle response, highway passing power, and off-idle snap that improved the most. Do you feel an improvement thus far in any of those areas? I have also had someone state that the TB helped reduce the ETC lag/weirdness that comes with driving something with throttle by wire.

People have consistently noted a slight increase in mileage- I commute 150 miles a day for work and I saw about a 1 mpg increase. I don't gaurantee it, but I've come to expect it.

Re: FRP TB Group Buy

do you think these increases will be felt if I have the stock intake? I have yet to be able to get the intake that I want and im not sure if I will feel a difference. What do you think?

Randall, I think you will feel *some* increase, but you ideally want as little restriction as possible in the intake tract prior to the TB.

Re: FRP TB Group Buy

OK. Now that it appears that the Jeeps use the car manifolds, now I know for sure what I need to look for. Sorry for the inconvienence guys.

I just sent an inquiry to someone selling a TB for a LX, if that goes through, I can port it for Ray, get his core back, which means I'll have one for you, Jeff...
