Has anyone heard anything good or bad about using exhaust paste combined with clamps in a diy system? I know all the hangars and the fitting will be a massive pain in the arse, but if I can save a few hundred dollars and still have a solid setup, I'll do it myself.
yeah i know brian, the big reason is the fuel tank, but yes there is wires and brake lines down that side.

Id be wary of using pastes. Ive used them to patch small leaks but the paste always burns thru. id use clamps if you cant weld or have the money for a shop.

Well, I could probably save a little more and have money for a shop, but like anybody else with a family, I'd rather not...

i hear ya there, i do all my own work and fabrication on my rig so i save on the shop. just keep in mind that a clamped system will not sound as good as a welded one

I was afraid of that. 😕
On the other hand, the shop probably wouldn't accidentally buy the wrong pieces, try to make them fit, and then have to scrap them after they've been too badly damaged to even return to Summit. Lol

I'm looking for true dual with upgraded headers.
I assume you're talking about a catback system?

Neat! You have a link for it? I've mostly been searching Summit and a LOT of Google search results. So far, I've been pretty disappointed.
The ideal setup for me would be the classic two tips peeking out from under the bumper, administering a deep V-8 rumble.

Oh, he meant Borla. I didn't realize it was a typo.
That makes me a sad panda. 😞
