09 4.7 gen2 air intake question?

First I'd like to Hi to everyone new to this site. Reccomended from guys from JU. My question is I'm looking to install the DYI airraid tube on my 09 4.7 so I can delete the resonator and keep the stock air box. Is it the 3in. tube or the 3.5in tube. Will I have to move any sensors? Has anybody used this setup? How many cuts on the tube will I have to make to get the straightest line from TB to stock air box? New to this type of set up any advice appreciated. Also does anybody know where I get a amsoil air filter for the 09 4.7 cant find one.

Re: 09 4.7 gen2 air intake question?

you can buy most of what you need online or at stores like Pep Boys, autozone etc. They will sell aluminum pipes of various bends. You will also need silicon couplers at the TB and the airbox. If you stay with the 3" piping...you will need a 3" couplers.....if you bump up to the 3.5 or 4" piping...you will need a 3.5 or 4" to 3" reducer coupler. We have a vendor here that sells Amsoil items at reduced rates to JG members. He is located in the Vendors forum under Syntheticlubestore.

You could alos look into the K&N 63 series intake for the 05-07....I have it on my Gen 2 4.7 and it fits pretty good. But keep in mind I have an 06 that I converted to the gen 2.

There is also a TRUE CAI in development for the 4.7 by Bwoody performance. Hopefully that gets done soon.
