Scott said it best. Fastman bores for a larger blade, whereas I oval out the bore , increasing the surface area, and taper it to the stock blade, then port match to the intake manifold inlet on the backside. Really comes down to what you want. Everyone's been happy with either, including Fabian, who tested a Fastman and an early FRP TB.

I have bored + ported throttle bodies for the 4.7 on the way, if there is enough demand for it, I will set up a 3.7 program as well.

Sleepy, was your engine running too lean after you installed your TB, or was the computer able to compensate for the extra air coming in?

My AFRs were not an issue after I ported my own TB. I did not have a wideband O2 installed at that time until after the TB was already ported, so I can't say if the AFRs changed at all before/after, but my AFRs were safe after the fact.

I had previously run a wideband well before I ported it, if there was any difference, it may have been a few tenths of a point. With the way the stock 4.7 JTEC PCM is setup, there is PLENTY of fuel, so it was still very safe even after the TB porting.

The NGC PCMs (found in 3.7/4.7/5.7 after 2004 generally speaking, other engines may be controlled by NGC PCMs as well) do not adapt as well to changes in airflow, but even then, I have not seen or been given any evidence that would indicate that AFRs on a stock calibration are leaned to the point where it is unsafe.

Ported TBs, be it mine, or others such as Fastman, F&B, etc, are a part that does not require tuning by itself. If you have numerous other modifications, you may need a minor revision, however.

K&N FPIK or 63 Series I think are good options, I have one of them, not sure which lol but its def noticeable under heavy acceleration. Exhaust may help as well so thats on mah list. I have the baby motor as well but with an intake and powerwire and a little love she moves herself just fine for being a DD

Agreed, and best of all it was totally independent and not scheduled. I had NO clue that Fabs was planning on doing that sort of test. The product is now better than what's shown, but the results are unbiased.
