Just curious on anyone's suggestions for the first round of modifications for my 2007 GC 4.7. I'm thinking air intake and exhaust for a quick 20-25hp. Any tips from your efforts?
I have a K&N intake, magnaflow muffler but I doubt you will see 20HP from them alone, you might get 20-25 if you do those mods and a Superchip. The intake and exhaust make it sound faster so it seems faster to me and most people who see it. =D I might not be the fastest car out there but my 05 4.7 sounds badass!
Anyone want to elaborate on the HO (High output? Horizontally opposed? Heavily Oiled ?) Cams? I will be looking for some performance upgrades soon also.
intake, exhaust, and a way to tune.. cams are also a good choice, along with a throttle body, colder T stat, torque converter, gears, heads, oh sorry..... I got carried away LOL
Mopar H.O cams and valve springs will be a nice upgrade. 25RWHP gained. I had them in my 07 4.7 and it really woke the truck up. Definatley noticed more power with the cams when i had the superchips tune installed.
If you dont want to tear into the motor, a intake, 3" exhaust w/ high flow muffler of your choice, and a bigger TB of your brand preference is a solid start, and well within the PCM's ability to understand. The 2003-2007 PCMs arent as forgiving to modifications as the earlier models are.
You could go back and forth on the oiled or dry filters all day and into tomorrow. Ive used both on different vehicles...not really noticed any sorts of differences.
I'm happy with my AFE intake, doesn't delete the air resonator but a little bit of tubing could do that. Couple that with a ported and polished TB, muffler, and you'll notice a big difference.
