Re: 4.7 tuners

why are your mpgs soooo bad, we have the same engine? i always get around 20-24mpg at constant highway speeds and around 15 city.

---just read your post.......... your mpgs dont go down with the tire change, your jeep is calculating it wrong because it doesnt know you changed the tire size. your speedo and odometer are also reading incorrectly

Re: 4.7 tuners

Well I get around 18-20 INSTANT mpg too while on the highway and the EVIC is reset while driving. Im pretty sure most people get 18-20 mpg highway, cruise control at 60-65mph and never realize it. But my overall calculated average per tank never is above 15.

Serious as a heart attack brother! The best I've gotten with summer fuel and with my "auto pilot" cruise control on i managed to hit 22.5. It's all about taking it easy on the skinny pedal especially when taking off from lets say a stop light. Without the SC i was getting 17 MPG which was pretty lame on my book.
More detailed than what i posted up top?? lol tell me what you need to know.

Re: 4.7 tuners

Never hurts to do a tune up as well.

Roof rack really REALLY killed my mpg. It took at least 3mpg's.

maxst , Yakima makes an aerodynamic snowboard roof rack system that i have on my jeep. Naturally it still offers a little wind resistance but nothing near the wind breaks that the normal roof racks create. They are called the Yakima Fat Cat series, check 'em out...

You need to plug in your tuner and the software that was downloaded to your pc will open up, you will find the download there with other options.

I keep hitting EDIT instead of QUOTE! lol sorry.

Tuner was the best by far, the rest went up almost at the same time so not sure how those affected me. A real good tune-up is a great help along with plugs and synthetic oils. Keep your tires well aired and make sure your wheel alignment is good, that has alot to do with mileage.
Roof racks aren't that great as stated so if you guys have them and don't use them, i would recommend removing them until the day you need them.

Re: 4.7 tuners

Seriously, i almost crapped myself when i read your post.

At this point though it might be worth my while to save for new tires in the stock 245/65/17 and get what i want and re sell my 265s then to spend $400 on a tuner.
