4.7 upgrade performance

Hi I have a 02 grand cherokee limited 4.7 V8. I'm just looking to increase its horsepower. I already have a fipk cold air intake but what else could I do that isn't going to break my bank?

Re: 4.7 upgrade performance

There are lots of things to do but if you had to one thing get a programmer. Superchips is probably your best bet.

Re: 4.7 upgrade performance

SCT is better than SuperChips but Im not sure FlyinRyan is taking on any more tuning. Free flow exhaust should be next after tuner. Alot of guys run 3" single all the way back. After those 3 mods the price for mods goes thru the roof. I was in the middle of a full motor build on my 99 gc 4.7 and threw it out the window and bought an SRT. But it all depends on what your end goal is.

Re: 4.7 upgrade performance

honestly if you think a tuner is too expensive then just plan on enjoying youre ride as is, cuz really nothing is cheap, you gotta pay to play

Re: 4.7 upgrade performance

Good luck finding H.O. cams. They are very rare and if you find them, they are expensive. I paid $600 for my 218/218 comp cams, and they were used...
