EGR stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve or system depending on your setup.

And it's purpose is to help clean up emissions for the most part.

egr stands for exhaust gas recirculation....its a valve that allows exhaust gas back into the manifold and actually has a cooling effect. It also helps to burn off bad stuff so its not emmited into the atmosphere

No in the WJ our EGR is basically just a crossover tube from head to head and to the intake box. I think i may just plug mine and be done with it.

But now we are able to remedy that issue with SCT. At the time there was no reason for us to beleive it would not fit your application... you where the first to learn of the EGR issue.

Since then our SCT tuner had effectively removed his EGR off his 2006 4.7L Ram and Installed a block off plate in place of it & turned the EGR off useing SCT. So you can run the 2008 intake on the 2006 4.7L... You will need our SCT custom tune in order to turn it off... although an added expense... The SCT will make power where no other tuner can.

We have learned over the last few months that the 2008 intake increases air flow so dramatically @ WOT that the factory PCM can not adjust for it. The 2008 intake tends to run real lean at WOT. The 2008 intake is a mod that will require custom tuning in order to richen up the AFR bringing them down to a safer level. So if you go with the 2008 intake, you need to know this mod moves MORE air and will need an SCT tune to make use of that air... it all adds up to more HP in the end.

From what I can tell on my 04 4.7HO, it does not have any egr valve to control anything with the EGR it is just a port on both heads that constantly feed exhaust into the intake, so without any computer control to interfere with, plugginmg it should not have any negative affect.
