Re: 4.7WK Supercharged...

theres a still a possibility, but for now I playing the cards that are handed to me. I'm still waiting on Chip Foose to jump on the band wagon because if he does then there will be a big possiblity the 392 or Viper will go in. Besides if the supercharger does happen, then my guy can start making kits for us 4.7 guys that been tryin to beat the 5.7/6.1 guys...

Oh man this sounds promising! If it will bolt on and fit into the WJ I will most definetly be down for one of these, mark my words. Next Spring/Summer I am going to be dropping some coin on the engine ($8-12k) and right now would be leaving it N/A as I don't want to run a used Kenne Bell really but this could be the bolt on I'm looking for!

Slap in some ROSS pistons, H-beams etc as a insurance policy, cams, heads and bam!

I hope your guy Ralph makes it happen bro!

The Viper swap may not be that easy, a guy on the red site had the motor and considered dropping it into the SRT8 but I'm sure it just wouldn't work so he didn't, could do a search.

Re: 4.7WK Supercharged...

If you had dimensions of the original brackets its as simple as cutting them out and grabbing the correct rotation Novi blower (i.e. one for a foxbody mustang would work, etc), and thats the gist of it. I dont recall what Paxton does for oiling, but getting the blower mounted is 75% of the battle

Paxton themselves probably would not give out the dimensions but it would be easy enough for someone to figure out on their own. It isnt rocket science. Richie could probably help in this case.

Why not modify the firewall and use the AirRam adapters to throw on a Eaton blower off of a Cobra? Someone has already done it on a WJ. You would have to cut the cowling and probably modify the hood.

If it fits a WK, it will fit a WJ...

Do you have a link to this WJ? I spoke to Nick about this project/kit and they suspended developement but he did say about 6 others are running it, I figured it'd just be rams/dakaotas. All that is left is pully alignment.

Problem is, here in the UK, I don't know if a shop would be willing to take it on. Heck I'd do it myself (or have a shot) but I don't have the tools.

EDIT: I'd also guess a modified hood would be required to clear the supercharger/intake?

His handle is Glitch....Search on thespeedfreaks.net and dakota-durango.com . He was running 16 psi last I checked, on a forged 4.7. I am casually acquainted with him, we chat every once in a while.

The cowl modification is easy, I had to do the same for the 08 manifold.

The install looked, for the most part, relatively straight forward once you got the correct snout length .

And yes, he had to modify the hood. the snout sticks out a whole bunch LOL

Re: 4.7WK Supercharged...

Ah Glitch, I just remembered about the SF forum a few weeks back and saw him on there. Didn't know he ran the AirRam kit tho, sweet! I will have a look and see if he has a build thread on there.

I thought the '08 intake was a direct replacement too, nothing's that easy tho right.

EDIT: Just read his build thread and boy that is a lotta work but soo darn sick!!! Reinstates why I am probably just going to keep it N/A tho, if a bolt-on blower does happen tho I'm in! For the sound of it spooling up alone
