Re: 4X9x14 Magnaflow

5x8x18 magnaflow part # is 12259. that's with 3" openings. i believe your 3.7L has 2.5" openings. the 2.5" magnaflow is #12256.

I'm really happy with it, if you want something thats deafining at all speeds i'd go smaller but if you want something with a nice low rumble cruising and a roar when you get on the gas it's a good muffler for that. It's my favorite mod so far but my mpg is hurting because im always getting on the gas and playing around with it now especially with autostick. =D If I could go it again I would have went with 3in pipes and the same muffler and headers but I dont think they make them for us 3.7 and 4.7 guys. The only drone I get is at about 2,000rpm and its not bad, it doesnt bother me at all and I listen to the radio plus I have an 05 which only has the muffler and no resonator butthen again Im the guy who goes to muscle car shows late just so I can hear them start up and drive away, I love loud haha.
Checked out AirRam's site and he does have good prices for the Magnaflows. But I am only interested in the muffler and not the whole system.

Honestly, with the right muffler, headers are totally unnecessary. I ran no cats with the setup I have now and it was NASTY. I run 3 race cats (Thats the way some of the WJs were setup from the factory) and it's still very loud, but I can do long trips and not hate myself.

If you find yourself looking for more noise/performance, the 2 cats that come on the later 4.7s like yours use ceramic substrate cats, you could weld in some metallic substrate cats and gain some power, all the while still passing inspection.

Thanx, for the info. Any luck on a part number for the 5x11x18?

He sells just mufflers, thats all I have, I decided against the catback since it was 2.5in pipes anyway and it came with the 22in muffler instead of the 18" which is what I wanted for extra sound. I think I got mine for 105 shipped? Off the site.

I dont know if they make a 5x11x18? I think just a 5x8x18 because I was originally looking for a 5x11x18 when I bought mine and could not even find that style on Magnaflows site. Im happy with the 5x8, I actually would have went a little louder if I could have but I like to be heard 5 blocks away and on a car making 235HP stock I dont want to be one of those bark's worse than bite kind of guys, now if I had a SRT i'd be running straight pipes. I also don't have a resonator on mine which might kill sound even more on yours if you have one so a 5x8 might be perfect for you if you have a later model 4.7 with the resonator. Im curious to see what kind of 1/4 mile I run with the intake, muffler, and the Superchip i'll be ordering soon so I cant wait to hit the track next time they have a JG meet.

This is my 5x8x18 the night I had it installed. The chics like it, at least I imagine they do.

Thanks, i'm really happy with how it turned out, it was my favorite mod for the money. I think it was about $145 total for the muffler and install and even if it didnt add much power the sound alone makes you feel like its faster.

Yeah I checked this site also and didn't see one. I could not find a 5x11x18 anywhere only the 5x8x18.
