I had a Magnaflow and didn't like the way it sounded. As far as complete systems go, The Borla had the best sound out of all the catbacks I have heard. I have not heard the Gibson in person, but it should be a very deep sounding exhaust as well...probably deeper than the Borla, but not as loud.

Whatever you get, make sure it's at least 18" long, for anything less is going to create more drone. Over 20" is optimal.
I spoke with a gentleman that worked for Magnaflow some time ago, and in regards to drone, he stated that typically, the width of the case has the biggest factor in how much resonance a muffler will give off. The length will make a difference, but the length affects the pitch more than resonance.

Re: 5.7L WK Deep Sounding Exhaust

So I found a good deal on a MBRP T-409 Cat-Back. If this deal goes through I should be set!

Re: 5.7L WK Deep Sounding Exhaust

I heard the MBRP is nice but it drones a lot because it doesn't have a resonator. I really like my Gibson. It isn't obnoxious but still has a nice growl, and there's no drone.

Chaoul1, I was wondering, what did you end up getting "which brand/ just muffler or full cat-back"?

Re: 5.7L WK Deep Sounding Exhaust

I haven't bought anything yet! I'm still deciding though! Either a Magnaflow like Blackpepper (Ryan), MBRP, or a Dynamax. I'm clueless!

Re: 5.7L WK Deep Sounding Exhaust

I like my Magnaflow cat... good fitment and no drone (due to reso) but not as beefy if you will at idle or low RPM's other than that it's an improvement from the stock cat.

Re: 5.7L WK Deep Sounding Exhaust

All seems to be good choices. You can't go wrong with any of these brand exhaust systems.
