6.1L engine Swap

Hi got 3.7L Grand Cherokee WH(WK) 2007. Due to tax laws in my country it is very unpleasant to pay for 6.1L SRT, more of that i want to save my lifted suspension. So i got the idea to replace my 3.7 with 6.1 with minimum other technical changes and get more horsepower with paying taxes as 3.7. Buying real SRT is not an option due to taxes, please don`t advise that. I don`t need full specs of SRT & don`t expect that from swap.
So what should i buy: 6.1L engine with harness & computer + engine mounts, t-case NV146.
As for WA580 do i have to change it to adopted to SRT version or it can be rebuild to fit it?
What more do i need?
Maybe there are better engine options for easier swap or 6.1L SRT is the best one in me case?

Come check out greenwayer's sparkly build. He swapped his 5.7 for a 6.4. Same process but a little more involved

I was thinking the same thing not that long ago but almost for everything you'll be paying for you can put half of the SRT down lol

Ok. I`ll explain bying an SRT with documents written 6.1L 432bhp will be worth 3000$ as tax every year(3.7L about 450$ a year). So swapping is not a bad idea.

Oh damn lol well I support your engine swap bro. That would be best that way you won't have to pay 3gs in fees yearly

Thanks. At the moment i`m examining what is the easiest option to swap(not the cheapest). Because i`ve rebuild my suspension couple of month ago & spent about 6,5gs: started from small changes but ended lots of replacements. So i`ve decided prepare myself in psychological way for swapping, examine everything i have to buy and to do and only after start swapping.
So i`ve read about 6.4L but found no information on successfull 6.1L swap. The best if there was any worklog(or at least list of thing needed to buy for a swap). One of the most important moments: engine must be widely used, because i don`t want to have troubles with spares in future.

Just make sure the transmission can support the 6.1, suspenion, and may need new mount for the engine.

a stock NAG/W5A580 can handle a 6.1. the V6 and srt have the same trans. and of course the motor mounts are needed
