I for one am not worried at all about hydrolocking if I get this CAI. You can see how low my Mazda 6 is (other cars forum) and the filter of the AEM CAI is probably about 8-10 inches from the ground inside the drivers side fender, maybe even lower I will have to double check! ... Anywho.. I have never had a single issue with water in over 3 years of driving it with the CAI, you just have to have a different mindset when driving in the rain and through water.

I have also seen these mesh, net looking bags that go over the filter that are supposed to help with keeping dirt and water out of the filter, although I have never used one.

Well sometimes you go through low parts of your neighborhood that may have 2 feet of water to get to your house to sleep at night or do whatever you do at home. Its what happens when there's only one way to get to the house. Reasons for actions. But i cant say its a regular occurrence.

Same here, Ive never personally had an issue. Those mesh covers are the dry chargers i spoke of.

i've signed up to be the guinea pig. stay tuned, after august 9th, i will have pics, vids and reviews of the performance adds.

My WK is BONE stock... i figure this will help them get a better gauge of the performance additions.

Scott has this been confirmed to work no problems on the 3.7 as well, or are we still waiting on some people to swap and see..?

If there's anyone with a 4.7 in San Antonio I will be more than willing to see if a 4.7 CAI fits mine.

Is this going to be limited to the WK platform? I don't remember if the air intake system is on the same side on WJ version of the 4.7 as it is on the WK version (drivers side on the WJ).

In anycase I would be ready to purchase one as soon as its available.

If I can provide any help I would be more then happy to, as I worked with K&N on the development of their FIPK for the 3.5L Inline 5 on the Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon so I am famliar with data logging things such as the ST and LT fuel trims, etc. (It only took 5 revisions before we got to the production design )
