The b woody filter is way down behind the bumper not by the stock air box.

I would worry about the heat soak due to the piping being made of metal.

Plastic transfers heat too. These intakes have been tested over and over again and are leagues above the competitors.

The computer testing and flow testing they do makes sure that the air has follows the path of least resistance the entire way through no hard turns or sharp angles. It is built like any car or plane where the flow test it or wind tunnel it so there is optimum flow, least restriction, coldest air and as much air as possible.
