That is why I said usually. If that product was like, $50 I'd probably say go for it and if it doesn't work scrap it or try and resell. But $200 is a lot to drop on something that screams scam.

At least it isn't as bad as those ebay chips.

Re: Another Fuel Gimmick? Or Legit?

I wouldn't do it. It boosts the octane, but by how much? We don't know. Is a consistent boost? We don't know.

I do know that the manual states an octane level of gasoline we should be putting in our tanks... I wouldn't stray to far from that.

I try to keep my rpms between 2000-2500 when accelerating, letting off the gas when I'm coming up to a light so I can drift on thru when it's green, and as you said, staying steady. There's only so much you can do though. I got 17.5mpg on the way home from school today - a 7 mile trip. Lately I've been getting 16-17 mpgs around town.

I'm just hoping that I eventually come across a product that does what it claims and asking around on the ones I do find to see if there's anyone who's had personal experience.

I think if there was a magic product that was safe to use for the long term, they would come with it from the factory. You know manufacturers now more than ever are doing everything they can to make their products more fuel efficient.

17.5MPG on a 7 mile trip isn't bad. You have to remember that the engine is not nearly as efficient while warming up as it is at operating temperature. I have a 7 mile drive to work, and I know that during the winter months my engine usually don't reach operating temperature until I'm basically pulling into my parking spot. It gets there a little bit quicker when its warmer in the morning.

100% agree. Any product that magically increase fuel economy and increase performance, both by worthwhile amounts, would be selling like crazy and/or would come stock from the factory.

Re: Another Fuel Gimmick? Or Legit?

Total Scam!

17.5 mpg with your mods and engine size is great!

Benefits of the Fitch Fuel Catalyst:
  • 5-12% fuel savings right away
With a inline fuel canister? That does what exactly? Maybe restricts fuel so you get better mpg?
  • Instant and permanent treatment
How? What is it doing?
  • Lowers emissions for cleaner air
How? What is it doing?
  • Less maintenance and oil changes
How? What is it doing? Less oil changes and less maintenancefrom putting a canister in your fuel system makes no sense?
  • Improves gas Octane and Cetane
How? What is this adding to your fuel if anything? Chemical reaction?
  • Increases horsepower, and torque
How?
  • Keeps fuel fresh during storage
Not going to happen!
  • Suppresses increase in fuel temperature
How? Cryogenic reaction...lol.
  • Installs in fuel line, or in the fuel tank
  • Maintenance-free, 250K-mile warranty
Sure does, cause it does nothing!
Scam Bro don't do it.

I am lucky if i get 14 MPG in the city. sometimes it's better to think that it's leaking......

Re: Another Fuel Gimmick? Or Legit?

Man I'm getting 10-12 MPG. I wouldn't pay $200 just to save 2.5 MPG's. Plus to me is BS.
