Re: BBK Performance Throttel Bodies (85mm and 90mm)

What would be the difference between the 85 and the 90? would the 90 be too big for the 5.7L ? Would I have to have a bigger intake tube?

Re: BBK Performance Throttel Bodies (85mm and 90mm)

IMO.....a 90mm TB would needa 4" intake to take full advantage of the tb. race ported heads and a cam would be great too

Re: BBK Performance Throttel Bodies (85mm and 90mm)

I looked on the website and they only had it for the 6.1. Unless Im not looking in the right place? or would it fit any 5.7?

x2...i dont even think the intake manifold is open to 90mm is it? if its smaller then 90mm the bigger TB would be worthless

I might be ordering one , the 85, next week. Should i expect around the same power gains as the daytona did?

Re: BBK Performance Throttel Bodies (85mm and 90mm)

Hey guys...the best you can expect from either of those TBs is increased throttle response. However, if you really want to get a decent power and performance gain, then get a hold of an Eagle '09 intake manifold. Then, you may benefit from the addition of a 85mm TB. The 90mm TB requires port matching and a 4" CAI, not unlike the Bwoody unit...and you'll need a custom tune to handle the increased air flow, for you will be running lean and have idle issues.

If you really want a TB, then stick with either the Modern Muscle ported 85-87mm or the 85mm Arrington or BBK unit. Chances are, you'll benefit from a custom tune with either of those as well, but it's not mandatory like with the 90mm.

Good info. I'd like to get one of these 85MM units.

Ya, I second that! I'm seriously thinking of adding the 85mm myself to my 5.7

Re: BBK Performance Throttel Bodies (85mm and 90mm)

I've been doing some searching for the BBK 1781 (85mm) and it seems it is going to be $429 - most places I've seen said they are going to start shipping them on 3/7/10.
