Billyb.cpt has a spectacular aura about
On a dragstrip up in NH with a DS Predator 93 octane tune (CMR tuned) & speed limiter off on my 2005 WK 5.7, I officially hit 152. I was shocked at how stable the ride & how still the steering wheel was at that speed (probably due to the WK Bilsteins shocks I had just installed) but I chickened out because my heart was racing so fast lol.

Sounds like you got the fastest 5.7 in the country. The fastest srt has a 408 or 419 I dont remember which but it ran a 8.86 at 156 in the quarter.

I didn't say I did it in a quarter mile lol. Took me a while prob a .6-.7 of mile but I got there. I logged it in my DS. That was about 2-3 yrs ago.

Sorry forgot to mention it was an "unofficial" dragstrip haha. I made a few buddies when I was in that were 91b. Being a 19k, it was bound to happen lol.

Re: Being outrun by a Mitsi-Outlander-NOT COOL!

I just got my 09 Overland 5.7 Hemi a few weeks ago and was returning from dropping my son off at his base when I scared the heck out of myself when I hit 110 without realizing it.

Was stuck behind 2 guys who couldn't make up their minds on whether or not they wanted to do 55 or not. Was the 45 to 52, and everything between. When I went to pass I was so used to pressing it to the floor to hit passing gear that it was automatic to do that with the new jeep too. found out there is no passing gear, its rocket assist. At 55 going around and hitting the floor the car jumped about 3 inches in the air, my head got slammed back into the head rest, and I was off and running. As I came around the 2nd guy I just caught a glimps of the speedo at 110.

For the next 8 or 9 miles into town I was pouring buckets of sweat knowing the cops were waiting for that idiot that blew everyone off the road. That's the fastest I've ever gone and don't have any plans to see what the hemi will do. I will say it felt like there was a lot more waiting to be used under the hood though.

I normally am a safe driver and usually go about 5 mph over the limit so I can almost NOT get run over. I don't know if the 09 is limited or not, but I don't think I'll be the one to ever find out.

You hit the governor at 110MPH, even the lil ol 3.7 has a lot to give after removing the limiter.

That's def true Strongjeff. Any engine straight from the factory has a lot more to give, whether it be a V4, V6, or V8. They don't produce mainstream vehicles with the intention of maxing the engine's capabilities straight from the assembly line. Everybody's inner speed demon would wreak havoc & mayhem on the road lol. And also to prevent damage & malfunction to the mechanical components according to factory specs plus longevity of the said components

The only good thing I have to say is that its nice to know that if I need to power it's there. But I'm the type of person that panics when I hit 80 Speeding tickets and higher insurance rates are not included in my budget.

At my age I prefer to live out the remaining years of my life waiting on grandkids and enjoying the comfort of my new ride.
